Nineteen years ago, actor Dennis Quaid was in the Napa Valley to film one of his most memorable roles in “The Parent Trap,” which was shot, in part at the home and winery of the Staglin family in Rutherford.

This fall, the actor and musician will be in the valley to kick off the seventh Napa Valley Film Festival (NVFF) week with a performance by Dennis Quaid and the Sharks at Blue Note on Tuesday, Nov. 7, as part of the NVFF’s Sneak Preview night. The group, which plays rock ‘n’ roll and country-soul, will perform two shows.

Quaid’s other roles on screen include “The Right Stuff,” “The Day After Tomorrow,” “Footloose” and “A Dog’s Purpose.”

Tickets range from $40-$125, and select VIP packages include complimentary tickets to the NVFF Celebrity Tributes on Thursday, Nov. 9, as well as a meet-and-greet and photo with the band. The NVFF Tributes program celebrates the highest achievements in the film industry and past honorees have included Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Costner, John Travolta, Kurt Russell, Dev Patel, and Judy Greer.
