Napa Valley Community Foundation announced a new, "six-figure" philanthropic fund established by the Pahlmeyer family that will make grants for community benefit.

The Pahlmeyer Family Fund is a donor-advised fund, a philanthropic tool established by individuals, families, and businesses. The Community Foundation will managed the fund and provide professional advice on grant recommendations. The Fund will consider grant applications by invitation only.

In November 2019, E. & J. Gallo Winery purchased Pahlmeyer Winery, which includes Pahlmeyer and Jayson by Pahlmeyer, two luxury brands known for iconic Bordeaux-style wines.

“As the winery landscape of Napa Valley changes, we are so grateful for families like the Pahlmeyers who show that their charitable commitment to Napa Valley endures for the long haul, even as ownership of their business changes,” said Terence Mulligan, president of Napa Valley Community Foundation.

“Napa Valley Community Foundation brings that same dedication to philanthropic advising, and we look to them to inform us about issues and organizations where our grantmaking can have the deepest local impact in the coming years," said founder, Jayson Pahlmeyer.

The Pahlmeyer Family Fund has committed a portion of its annual grantmaking to the Foundation’s efforts to expand the inventory of affordable workforce housing in Napa County.
